Taking Responsibility for Our Own Happiness
I’ve always considered myself a “happy person.” I was taught to embrace change and learn from challenges from a very young age. At the same time, I limited my happiness–it felt responsible and adult to suffer a little. After all, the adults I respected were suffering.
It wasn’t until I entered my 30’s that I realized I didn’t feel I deserved to be 100% happy…what with all the mistakes I’d made. This shift; selling our four bedroom Victorian, moving onto a 32 foot bus…and whatever comes next, was a conscious decision to make fewer compromises and to love life more. This blog is dedicated to that journey. Together with my husband, Ryan, and our dogs, Marlon Brando, a.k.a. “The Black” and Clint Eastwood, a.k.a. “The Brown,” our commitment is to discovering how living outside of the prescribed labels of society will provide a platform for self-realization, community appreciation and unadulterated happiness.
